PRIDE PAK is a district wide student leadership club for LGBTQ+ students and allies in grades 9-12.

The goal is to build community, have fun, and work on building our annual student-led Pride Conference!

We meet monthly and can provide transportation if you need it.

With support from the Department of Equity and Student Achievement, students from around the district were invited to participate in a two day workshop in the winter of 2016. The students who came to the workshop offered their stories and experiences from their various high schools. It became clear that this group of passionate teens wanted to help make change and build safer space in our schools and thus, P.R.I.D.E. P.A.K. was born. The acronym stands for Pride/Perspective, Respect, Individuality, Diversity and Equity with Purpose, Action and Kindness.

PRIDE PAK was created to give student members an opportunity to promote equity and safer learning environments for all diverse student populations on their campuses. PRIDE PAK is currently comprised of students from the Gay Straight/Gender Sexuality Alliance clubs at each of San Juan's high schools. Through workshops, outreach, and various site-based campaigns, these students are dedicated to ensuring our campuses are inclusive to all unique populations of students. PRIDE PAK has hosted 4 districtwide student led conferences since April 2017. These conferences educate staff on inclusive practices, terminology, and legal matters for our LGBTQ+ community.
