Writing Checklist

1. Are there any first or second person pronouns? If so, REPLACE THEM.

2. Did you use the same transition word twice in the same paragraph? If so, FIND A NEW TRANSITION WORD.

3. Do you have any questions in your essay? If so, REWRITE THEM AS STATEMENTS.

4. Does each body paragraph have a minimum of two citations? If not, ADD THEM.

5. Do your introduction or conclusion paragraphs have citations? If so, TAKE THEM OUT.

6. Is your claim or thesis statement in the proper format? If not, FIX IT!

7. Do you have academic vocabulary in your essay? If not, ADD IT.

8. Did you use formal writing? If not, REVISE IT!
