Director Petermann, Abriella Parish, Alivia Caudill, and Lillian Preston left SRTC early in order to begin the first high school competition of the SLSC - Courtesy Corps. These ladies helped people find their way and maintained safety throughout the entirety of the conference. 20,000 steps each day!!!
Our destination was Bangor Maine! Over the course of the two days, competitions take place at the Cross Insurance Center, Eastern Maine Community College, United Technologies Center, and Mid-Maine Technical Center. A total of 77 competitions took place for high school students and SRTC students compete in 51 of those competitions. SRTC represents!
Shown above you see a behind the scenes shot of the Cross Insurance Center as setup was going on for Opening Ceremonies. Plus, the giant bag of badges for our students and advisors. This is their ticket to get into ceremonies and their competitions. Lastly, you see the beautiful pin design by our own Harley Robinson (Massabesic) who is our Digital Design student that won the first competition of the SLSC by winning the branding competition.
The Opening Ceremony kicks off the two days for our high school students but concludes the middle school competition.
Dinner Time and Then, Lights Out!
Chef Kristen Perry and Chef Jethro Loichle along with an army of Culinary and Baking students prepared a wonderful dinner for us following the Opening. Sandwiches, wraps, salad, snacks, the works.... We cannot thank them enough for their preparations to support us on this two-day journey. We take up a huge amount of space in the Residence Inn and we also need to thank them for how well they take care of us. #SRTCPride
