Teaching is such a rewarding experience! I teach so I can learn about the world and all the amazing possibilities that brand new minds bring to me each and every day.
I'm originally from the North Shore of Massachusetts, where I grew up in and around the Newburyport area. As a child I loved theatre, reading, and school. I grew up with two sisters.
I graduated from Smith College in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Theatre. I spent time as an actor, a technical writer and a newspaper editor before returning to school to get my Teaching Certificate from the University of New England in 2014.
I moved to Maine in 1996. I lived in York and Kittery before moving to Sanford in 1998, where I still live.
My husband, Chris, and I have two children. Callie is in the 8th grade and Sam is in the 6th grade, both at Sanford Middle School. We also have two dogs – Bella and Josie; three cats – Sophie, Simon and Simba; two guinea pigs – Squishie and S’mores, and a cockatiel named Maude.
My family enjoys making and listening to music, camping, reading, animals, word games, museums, theater and traveling.
This will be my fifth year as a fourth grade teacher in Sanford.
