If you would like to learn more about 3D printing follow the steps below. All SHS & STEM students may use the 3D printers during Knight Time. Just let Ms. Carey know in the "notes" section when scheduling Knight Time in the library.
If you would like an introduction to the 3D printer start by finding something someone has already designed on thingiverse. You may print something simple, small, and school appropriate. Download the file (.STL) and send it to Ms. Carey. When you come in during Knight Time I will help you print the object.
If you printed a design from Thingiverse, now it's time to design something on your own. I recommend signing up for Tinkercad using your Sandwich Google Account and completing their tutorials. When designing something to print on Tinkercad think ahead to how the 3D printer will print your design. The object needs to be designed with printing in mind!
Design an object the will solve a problem
Create an accurate copy of a real world object
Create something for the school
Design a puzzle comprised of three interlocking separate objects
Design two object that can connect (hinges, ball and socket joints)
