Site Governance Team (SGT) Overview:
SGTs are comprised of parents, community members, and staff, who are selected by each of their constituent groups. They discuss and plan for all aspects regarding teaching and learning. They also design and implement effective strategies for the continuous improvement of all students' achievements through quality teaching and learning experiences at school. SGT is a site-based, decision-making group created through a local agreement between San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) and the San Diego Education Association (SDEA).
Site Governance Team (SGT) Responsibilities:
SGT members act as an advisory body on issues other than major categorical programs. The Washington Elementary SGT provides a shared decision-making base empowered to plan, problem solve, and make recommendations to improve the quality of education and working life at Washington Elementary S.T.E.A.M. Magnet School.
