Storefront Youth Emergency Shelter
The Storefront Youth Emergency Shelter (YES) is the only place in San Diego where kids and teens ages 12 to 17 can find a safe place to stay if they’re dealing with tough situations like not having a stable home or experiencing abuse. We have 10 beds available and are open every day of the week. At YES, you’ll get a place to sleep, access to showers and laundry, and meals provided by caring community volunteers. Plus, they offer services that help planning your future, talking through problems with a therapist, and learning life skills
When you first arrive at YES, you'll have a “Pre-Intake” chat with our staff to talk about what’s going on and why you need help. This usually takes around 20 minutes, but it can be a bit longer if needed. You’ll need permission from a parent or guardian to stay with us, but we’re here to help if there are any issues with that. You can stay for up to 21 days, and if you need more time, we can work something out. You’re also free to leave whenever you’re ready.
