Q&A
Do you have to submit volunteer hours?
No, you do not. You only need to submit volunteer hours if you would like to qualify for active membership. You can choose to submit only academic materials if you'd like.
Which timeframe/s can volunteer hours come from?
Volunteer hours have to come from the same time period as the semester grades you are submitting. For example, during the fall application period, your grades are based on the second semester of the previous school year (February to May/June). Hence, all your volunteer hours should also come from that time frame.
What is the difference between active and inactive membership?
Active membership requires submission of academic grades and a service/hour log. Inactive membership only needs academic grades.
How many semesters do you need to submit hours for?
In order to be an Active Life Member when you graduate, you need to submit volunteer hours for 4 semesters.
How many volunteer hours do you need per semester?
10 hours of volunteer service are required per semester if you are applying for active membership.
What are the important dates?
The fall CSF application period opens on September 12 and closes on September 23. The spring CSF application opens on February 12 and closes on February 23.
