Program Overview

Greetings!

I am here to support students and their families! It's important for me to see students reach academic, social-emotional, and career development goals. I offer one-on-one, group, classroom, and family supports.

Anything students share with me is CONFIDENTIAL, meaning I will keep it between myself and that student, UNLESS:

Families and teachers can use my Office Number 619-605-3200 x 3031 or email: rfischel@sandi.net

HAPPY MONTH OF THE MILITARY CHILD!!

Did you know Hancock enrollment includes over 90% military kids?

The official flower of the military child is the dandelion. Why? The plant puts down roots almost anywhere, and it's almost impossible to destroy. It's an unpretentious plant, yet good looking. It's a survivor in a broad range of climates. Military children bloom everywhere the wind takes them. They are hardy and upright. Their roots are strong, cultivated deeply in the culture of the military, planted swiftly and surely. They're ready to fly in the breezes that take them to new adventures, new lands, and new friends.

ABOUT ME

My name is Rachel Dobbin; you can call me Ms. Rachel. I am originally from Irvine, California, but have been lucky enough to call San Diego home for the past 17 years. I graduated from University of San Diego with a BA in Communication Studies, then went on to receive my Masters of Social Work at San Diego State University. After working as a Program Coordinator for the Operation Bigs mentoring program for Military Youth and a School Social Worker in Lemon Grove School District, I completed my PPSC (Credential) in School Counseling with National University.

I've lived and studied in California, Louisiana, Minnesota, Australia, and Hawaii.

In my free time, I enjoy playing beach volleyball, soccer, riding my bike, and continuing to learn. I recently signed up to run my first marathon - the San Diego Rock 'n' Roll! I also love spending time with my husband, Zac, and two dogs, Teddy and Kona.
