Ensembles

The Concert Band is an elective offered to all students at Muirlands Middle School. This ensemble is focused to develop beginning musicians and will explore music fundamentals on the traditional instruments of the Concert Band. This course is designed to set the student up for participation in the Symphonic Band. 

Instrumentation: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone, Bassoon, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba, and Percussion

The Symphonic Band is an elective offered to 7th and 8th grade students at Muirlands Middle School along with incoming 6th graders who are accepted after an audition. This ensemble will dive deep into advanced techniques on their instruments while performing advance middle school and early high school music. This course is designed to set the student up for participation in high school music programs.

The String Orchestra is an elective offered to all students at Muirlands Middle School. This ensemble will explore music fundamentals on the traditional instruments of the String Orchestra. This course is designed to set the student up for high school level music. 

Instrumentation: Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass
