Essential Question: What makes a healthy aquaponics garden/river system?
Using aquaponics, students will discover and understand:
- Water Cycles
- Plant Life Cycles
- Carbon Cycles
- Nitrogen Cycles
- Hydroponics vs Aquaponics vs Soil Planting
- Pollution and Recycling
- Classroom Aquarium vs Garden Green House
With our partner, San Diego River Foundation, we will continue to use :
- Field Trips
- Microscope Labs
- Planting of Succulents
- Research & Planting of Acorns (new!)
- Researching of Kumeyaay Indians and planting (Historic) seeds
Students will learn and understand components of Water & Soil at the Garden:
- pH of water
- Acidity/Basicity of Soil
- Nitrates & Nitrites in Water/Soil
- How Phosphorus is involved in Plant Life
Summary
Summary
First Exhibition: Students will research and create Google Slides &/or booklet about the plants and animals involved with the Kumeyaay Nation.
Second Exhibition: Students will create a documentary of Google Slides &/or Booklet about the process of plant growth in the Montgomery and Kumeyaay Garden.
