Thanks for visiting the Jones Counseling website! I'm Ms. Andrea your School Counselor. I'm originally from Reno, Nevada and have called San Diego home since 2015. Before dedicating myself to school counseling I spent 7 years as a high school Spanish teacher in both San Diego and Memphis, Tennessee.

I came to San Diego for a master’s degree from the High Tech High Graduate School of Education. There, I taught and researched effective strategies to create meaningful second language acquisition through personalized projects rooted in the local community.

In 2020, amongst the pandemic, I noticed the huge need for strong School Counseling support for students. I completed a Master's in School Counseling through the University of Southern California.

Outside of my passion of empowering students I love rollerblading, eating, cooking, growing plants, and speaking Spanish!

Hi I’m Ms. Michelle. I have lived in San Diego all my life. I have 3 kiddos. The oldest is named Ronnie (19), Omar (13), and the youngest Mia (9). I have a pet hamster named Snowy. She loves to eat all day and snack all night. I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology from San Diego State University. My hobbies are going to the beach, eating tacos, and spending time with my family.  I love working with students of all ages. Remember that in this space all feelings are welcome!
