On Thursday 9/5 AHHC celebrated their FACES Lab Coat ceremony at Rady’s Children’s Hospital. Senior Camila Serna shared some eloquent and inspirational words about what the program has meant for her, "This program has helped me grow by challenging me to step out of my comfort zone and develop new skills. It’s given me practical experience and expanded my perspective, which has been instrumental in my personal and professional development. I'm looking forward to the opportunity to dive deeper into the medical field, connect with others who share similar interests, and apply what I learn in real-world situations. It’s exciting to think about the growth and experiences that lie ahead.”
Congratulations to Senior Miko Hunter for being chosen as your Athlete of the Week. Miko is a starter for the Cardinal Football team. This past week he had 90 yards on 5 receptions. Miko also gets it done in the classroom holding a 3.6 GPA.
On Friday 9/6 the SABE 10th grade launched their project for this school year. They will be partnering with the San Diego County Library to install Little Free Libraries at feeder school throughout City Heights. Students learned how literacy and access to books can impact future success. They heard from Director Migell Acosta and Librarian Missy Solis about the impact their project will have on the community. Students then flexed their design muscles by using recycled paper to build structures to support as many books as possible. Their designs were amazing! We're looking forward to seeing how this project develops this year!
