SHOUT OUTS
Huge shoutout to our Hoover ASB student leaders who got to spend the day at the Padres game with Junior Achievement of San Diego and the Fernando Tatis Jr. Full Count Foundation! It’s experiences like these that take learning beyond the classroom, connecting our students with the San Diego community and making memories along the way. And of course, our Cardinals had to bring a little Hoover spirit with them, even teaching Fernando Tatis Jr. the HOORYDE! Safe to say Hoover made its presence known at Petco Park. Thank you to JA San Diego and the Full Count Foundation for an unforgettable experience!
On Tuesday, September 15, SABE students had the opportunity to present their Tiny Home Project to the San Diego Unified School District Board of Education! Students walked the Board through their journey from drawings and measurements, to building a scaled model, creating a cut list, gathering materials, and bringing their plans to life through hands-on construction. This was more than just building a tiny home. It was an opportunity for students to put their problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and construction skills into action, then share what they learned with district leaders. We are so proud of our students for representing Hoover and SABE, sharing their work, and showing what students can accomplish when they have the opportunity to design, build, learn, and lead.
