Dear Students and Families,
Hello! I’m Roya Tabrizi, Hoover High School’s Community School Coordinator. I’m excited to start the year with you and connect with more of our wonderful families. I look forward to sharing resources, information, and opportunities to support our students.
We’re pleased to announce our first Hoover Market on Tuesday, September 3rd, from 2:30-3 p.m. Food distribution will take place on the first and third Tuesday of each month (except January). Please check the flyer for the full schedule for all, and location for community members.
Hoover will also offer free English classes for parents through San Diego Continuing Education from September 30, 2024, to January 25, 2025. Beginning and Intermediate classes will be held from 6-8:30 p.m. To enroll, first register at San Diego College of Continuing Education (details are on the flyer), then sign up online at www.sdcce.edu/esl or in person at Hoover High School, Room 1605, on September 9th or 10th from 6-8 p.m. If you need childcare, please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/wpsqxguGxUgiDk6T7.

Hoover eSports is looking for cabinet members and players for the upcoming year. CIF Varsity titles include Super Smash Bros, Rocket League, and League of Legends. Exhibition titles are Mario Kart 8, Madden 25, and NBA2K25. CIF Fall Open starts September 9th. Regular season runs from January to March. Other games and tournaments may be available. See Mr. Sumida in Rm 357 during lunch for more information.

On Wednesday August 28th, Girls Flag Football opened the season with a win against the San Pasqual Eagles. Check our their highlights and make sure to come out and support at their next home game on 9/5.
