SHOUT OUTS
On Saturday, November 16th, Hoover Boys and Girls Varsity Soccer held their season opener. The girls had a dominant win, shutting out Southwest, El Centro 5-0. Meanwhile, the boys came back from a 2-0 deficit with goals from Angel Cabrera, Diego Viveros, Helio Sanchez, and Juan Sanchez, to defeat Southwest, El Centro 5-3.
Last Friday, Social Justice Academy honored their students with their biannual PEACE Awards (P-Prepared; E- Educate; A- Advocate; C- Collaborate; E-Empower). Students who illustrate what it means to be a part of the academy were honored.

SENIOR UPDATES
As you are completing your CSU application, they're offering virtual drop-in hours to provide some additional support. Additionally, there are two virtual webinars for students who just want to learn more about SDSU and haven't been to a presentation already. This is open to all grade levels. Fall 2025 Cal State Apply Drop-in Hours: For current seniors who need additional application support especially for those entering repeated grades, dual-enrollment, international coursework, etc.
Please join us for an upcoming virtual EOP presentations for high school students applying for Fall 2025 admission into SDSU. The flyer attached includes dates and registration information. Each presentation will be held via Zoom. An RSVP is not required but is appreciated and there is no deadline to RSVP.

As you may know, San Diego Unified School District and Cal State University San Marcos have established a partnership to provide guaranteed admission for students who meet certain requirements:
Students must be continually enrolled in the district since 9th grade with exception for homeless, foster youth, and military dependents
Students must complete all A-G coursework required by CSU admission policies
Students must meet minimum CSU eligibility requirements
Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 upon graduation
Students must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or The California Dream Act Application.
We are sending you this invitation to participate in a special event at Cal State San Marcos on Oct 3, 2024 to learn more about the university and the guaranteed admission opportunity. The day will feature a welcome and overview of the campus majors and program offerings, a CSU application workshop, information from Financial Aid, lunch and a tour of the campus.
