UPCOMING EVENTS
The College Showcase is designed to expand access and awareness of postsecondary opportunities for all SDUSD students. We hope students from across our district will take advantage of this event, especially those who may be exploring college options for the first time. Over 90 institutions, including many UC and Cal State campuses, as well as private, small, midsize, and large universities from across California and the United States. This event will provide SDUSD students and families with a valuable opportunity to connect directly with college admissions counselors and learn more about higher education options.
SHOUT OUTS
Friday’s Homecoming festivities kicked off with an energetic ASB Welcome Crew greeting students at the gates, setting the tone for a day full of Cardinal pride. The pep rally brought the gym to life as each class performed dances inspired by their Masquerade theme, and teachers joined in on the fun during a hilarious inflatable race. The rally ended on a high note with the seniors taking home both the Spirit Week title and the top pep rally performance. That evening, the Cardinals faced off against the Crawford Colts in the annual Battle of the Boulevard, falling just short in a hard-fought 14–13 game. Broadcast Journalism students also had the chance to showcase their sports reporting skills by filming and commentating the game, gaining hands-on experience in live event coverage. At halftime, seniors Osmar Cabrales and Melanie Velez were crowned Homecoming King and Queen. The celebrations continued Saturday night with a packed and vibrant Homecoming Dance, where students danced the night away and capped off an unforgettable weekend.
