Community Schools Coordinator and Site Coach 

Shelli Stinson 

Prior to becoming ALBA's Site Coordinator, Shelli's professional background includes being a social worker, diversion counselor, and a wellness center coordinator in community-based organizations and within the TK-12 educational system. She holds a Master's Degree in Human Behavior and is driven by an equity-focused lens and trauma-informed care.  Shelli is motivated to work alongside school and district leadership to create safe school spaces that promote a sustainable positive school community for students, families, and staff.  Shelli is the proud mother of 4 children and is the Kumu Hula of Hālau Hula O Kāhea I Ka Manu Aloha Hula School. She loves re-creating her family's passed-down recipes, watching movies, road trips with family, and going to SD Padres games. 

Mark Hoskisson

Mark is excited about building our community as ALBA's Community Schools Site Coach. He has been at ALBA since 2011 and currently teaches English and Screen Printing.  Prior to ALBA , he taught English at Hoover High School for 14 years, where he also  coached wrestling, cross country, and track.  Mark has a BA in English and MA in Education from SDSU, and enjoys reading, writing, traveling, athletics, woodworking, and spending time with his family.

I believe that a quality education is the world's biggest equalizer. I also believe that education must start with social-emotional health and well-being.  Being the principal of our amazing school is literally my DREAM JOB! I love coming to school every day to work with students and families and support those second and sometime third chances we all need to be successful! In my free time I enjoy reading and traveling! 2023 Association of California School Administrators; 2023 Principal of the Year.
