Frequently Asked Questions

What is the digital PSAT 10 exam?

A practice exam for a commonly needed exam required for admission to colleges and universities.

PSAT = Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test 

10 = only for 10th graders

Why take the digital PSAT 10 exam?

FREE for all 10th graders in SDUSD and practice for the "real" SAT that might be required for future schools or scholarships.


What is on the digital PSAT 10 exam?

The PSAT 10 takes 2 hours and 14 minutes and consists of two sections: 

1) the Reading and Writing section, and 

(2) the Math section. 

Most of the questions are multiple choice, though some math questions ask you to write in the answer rather than select it. 


How can I take the digital PSAT 10 exam?

Schools will plan to test all 10th graders on a school day in March or April.  

Students can opt-out if they want and will instead do another activity to prepare for their future.


What if I need testing accommodations?

 

If you already have approved accommodations, please have your SSD ID available as it will often need to be manually entered into the registration system for it to apply to your digital exam.  


Students/families MUST Submit a request form to your IEP or 504 case manager - school staff cannot apply for accommodations without your permission and they are not automatically applied from your IEP/504 plan: https://accommodations.collegeboard.org/request-accommodations/request/forms

How do I get my score report?

Scores are usually available about one month after exam date.
