Class Agenda

1. Mesopotamia Social Structure-Video and SLIDES

   • 👑 Ruling Class = Yellow

   • ⭐ Upper Class = Blue

   • 🔨 Middle Class = Green

   • 🌾 Lower Class = Red

   •       Slaves= Brown

Part 1: Draw the three homes

1. Draw the upper class, middle class, and lower class homes in the three boxes.

2. Use details from the video. Think about size, rooms, building materials, and furniture.

3. Write two details under each home.

Part 2: Fill in the Venn diagram

1. Write differences in the outside parts: upper class on the left, lower class on the right.

2. Write what they share in the middle.

3. Look at your homes and your pyramid notes for ideas.

     1. TOP: Ruling class   (0:39)

        • Who? What were their duties? How were they linked to the gods?

     2. Upper class   (2:10)

        • Who? How did they get land or status?

     3. Middle

        • Jobs? Homes? 

     4. BOTTOM: Lower and Slaves   (4:46)-split in half

        • Jobs? Homes? Which group was the largest? Draw a line to split the tier.

        • What rights did they have? What work did they do? Where did they live?

   • 👑 Ruling Class = Yellow
