Your Mission

You are a Mesopotamian history expert! Choose ONE of the four empires and show what you learned by creating either an Acrostic Poem OR a Travel Advertisement.

Use your reading packet and Empire Doodle Notes to help you. Your work must include accurate historical information.

Step 1: Choose Your Empire

Step 2: Choose Your Project

Complete ONE of the following assignments.

OPTION 1: Empire Acrostic Poem

Use the letters of your empire's name to create a historical acrostic poem.

Requirements:

• Write your empire's name vertically.

• Every letter must begin a line containing a historical fact.

• Use your acrostic word bank for help.

• Include all SIX required facts somewhere in your poem:

  • 1 fact about the leader

  • 1 fact about how the empire rose to power

  • 2 important achievements

  • 1 fact explaining why the empire fell

  • 1 fact about its legacy

• Add at least THREE drawings related to your empire.

• Add color and make your poem visually interesting!

Remember: Your poem does NOT need to rhyme. Do not write just one word for each letter.

OPTION 2: Visit Our Empire! Travel Advertisement

Imagine you are creating a travel advertisement to convince people to visit your empire during its greatest years!

Create a colorful advertisement with the following sections:

• How We Became Powerful

• Explain how the empire rose to power

• Draw and explain TWO important achievements

• Include one fact about the empire's legacy

Design Requirements:

• Large, colorful empire title.

• At least THREE illustrations.

• Labels and short descriptions.

• Neat, organized advertisement.

Make your empire sound exciting, but keep your historical facts accurate!
