“The Beginning”
Our First Week after (week 0) In Maker Diploma Focused to get familiar with the programs we are using along the diploma, so we were asked to find Two designs from internet to fabricate it in 3D Printer & Laser Cutter Machine.
And this is my picks for this week :D
SpongeBob SquarePants Cartoon Show
Squidward Tentacles (شفيق حبار)
In SpongeBob SquarePants cartoon Squidward Tentacles also known as (شفيق حبار) is an extremely famous character, He is known for his unhappiness and depressing outlook on life, so I searched the internet to make a 3D model of him :-) .
The Witcher 3 Logo
The Witcher 3 is a famous RPG Action-Adventure Video Game and one of my best games of all time :-) .
The font type of the game always impressed me, so that I decided to make a 2D laser cutting for the logo and use it as a keychain.
The Witcher 3 Video game cover
I Used Laser Cutter for my keychain because it's made of wood, and I found it's more suitable for the design, also (RDWorks) helped me extract (RLD) file For the design instructions to the machine.
Machine
Morn MT3050D CO2 Laser Cutter
Software
RDWorksV8 laser software
Material
ply wood sheet 50*30
3D Printer was necessary to make the (PLA) filament Melt and construct the shape of squid ward by the help of (Ultimaker Cura) software I was able to communicate
with the machine, extract the (g code) file and add the final touches before the 3D Printing process.
Machine
PRUSA i3 MK2
Software
Ultimaker Cura
Material
PLA Filament
The 3D Design model on the internet
I found the 3D Printing design in this site and if you can't find what you like in this site there are a lot of useful sites you can find like:
Yeggi: 3D Models search engine.
Cults: Partial free.
Free3D: has many models for many software programs.
Prusa3D: the official site of the 3D Printer machine offers plenty of models.
And if you search you can find even more :-)

In Slack, We shared our findings with each other and give our opinion on it and there was very cool designs :D
Also, my Instructor Eng. Maha advise me to choose an easy design in 3D printing, so I don't have a lot of support on it.
In 2D Design I faced Problem that the RD works software only read a (.dxf) files only, and my design was (.eps).
So I search on the internet to convert the file and I found this useful site to convert the file successfully and continue the process :-)
EPS To DXF
RC Car Hand Control
I can use what I learn from 3D & 2D Printers To help me design the package of the final project.
I learn the Different Between the Raster Engraving & Vector Engraving in the material, and it was very cool :D
Thin Cardboard Shows the operations can be done on it
