assignment of this weak wanted us to made glasses but fabricate frame by laser cutting and side arms by 3D printing so i go and search for glasses and my friend help me to select one and I loved these glasses because i think it is cool i found it on google
fusion 360 : as desgin software i used it to desgin front face that was demand to be 2D and use laser cutter with it also i used it to desgin side arms and make it 3D
ultimaker cura for 3D printing because i can download stl files on it , it can produce G code can show numbers of layer and if it need support and work on all 3D printing machine
Laser CAD as software to prepare 2D files
machines that i used was 3D printing FDM ( creality - ender-3/ender-3 v2) i used it to fabricate side arms
Lasser cutter elmaliky : used it for frame of glasses
we use PLA for 3D printing and ply wood 3mm
first i chose a design to draw then start skitch on fusion i made top plan to draw then draw 2 circle 46 mm by circle icon then do offset to circle I draw / offset repeat the shape you collect, and you can control if you want close to origin shape or far from it
start to draw the shape i want by spin lines (you can control these lines to remolding it as you want) and arcs after i finish in one side i draw a line then convert it to construction line by clicking on the line and choice construction line) i do mirror to the other side and delete half of the circle that i draw shape on it by trim line tool
Draw the bridge by arcs and made size of it 1.9
start to define all sketch and attached it to the origin by dimension
finished the skitch and save it as DFX file to prepare it on the laser cad software
start laser cad software and select black for cutting / blue for speed cut / red for engrave
Arm of glasses
we are asked to make it by 3D printing
i start by side plane draw rectangle
i delete one side of the rectangle and draw 2 arc and attach them to each other
extrude it then start a new sketch on it to draw the part that will have the screw
do extrude and fillets because the shape has sharp angle
export it as stl to ultimaker cura
start to put object in the right orientation
to save time there is feature in this software called mirror so i click copy paste and then choice the axis i want mirror work in
after the preparation on cura i export it to memory card as G - code
ultimaker cura : after i export stl file to software i start to adjust parameters such as
layer height .2 mm as stander quaiity
no support because the design was flat and there is no need for support
infill: use cubic infill 10 % because it is best and suitable for this model because there is no force on it
used brim to make sure the design will be stable
made a mirror to the file to made the other arm
then slice it to see how much time it will take and amount of PLA it need
after i finshed on ultimaker cura i export it on memory card as G- code and choice my file and start printing then start printing
and i continue monitoring until it print first layers then wait until it finshed then start to remove brim by my hands then use cutter to make it clean of brim
laser cutting
after i finished frame sketch i export it to cad laser to adjust parameters
i used speed cutting blue color to draw on the wood
cutting i used black color
then adjust power and speed of laser
start the machine
i start machine and vacuum
attached cable of machine to laptop and press download button to transvers dfx file to machine
put the plywood and stabilize it
put new origin by origin button
check the space and be sure if laser will work on wood or not by box button
start to cut by start button that color is green

speed cut speed 100 / power 50

The arm of the glasses was a little shorter than it should have been, but this could have been avoided next time by taking measurements on real glasses and to solve this problem i made glasses stable by bridge of glasses to by making it fit on but it still not stable as it should
there was problem with 3D Printing machine that the height of the nuzzle was too close to the bed so it ruined the printing file because it It hit the printing object and moves it from its place. so i told my instructor who solve this problem by editing setting of the machine and adjust the height of it by putting a piece of paper and calibrate to see if nuzzle touch press on the paper or not
