3d Printing + Laser cutting
The assignment is to fabricate a cool glasses.
The glasses consists of two parts:
First ... the front part through which we can see.
Second .... the arms which hold the glasses on the face through the ears and nose.
The front part will be made through laser cutting.
The arms will be made through 3D printing.
The two parts will be connected through bolt & nut.
I will use fusion 360 to design both parts of the glasses (The front part & The arms).
Then I will use cura to prepare the design file of the arms.
And I will use LaserCAD to prepare the design file of the front part.
I will use Prusa 3d printer to fabricate the arms.
I will use El Malky ML149 CO2 Laser Cutter to cut the front part.
first of all I designed the front part on fusion 360 & I made two openings on the sides for the bolts.
I got a prepared file with extension .dxf
I Designed the right arm on fusion 360 then I made a mirror to form the left arm and i made opening in each arm to enable the connection with the front part.
I got a prepared file with extension .stl
I got the file of .dxf extension.
I imported the file to RDworks to modify it.
I gave the cutting color Red
cutting speed 25 and power 65
I got a primary file with extension .stl
I had two files ... one for each arm then I imported the files to CURA to modify it.
I marked the support and adhesion .. Resolution 0.3 mm/ In fill density 10% /
first I chose the red plastic filament and put it above the prusha 3d printer.
I loaded the nozzle with plastic filament
I put the scan disk which contains the design sliced on cura with extension .gcode into the printer and chose it on the screen.
then the printer started to fabricate.
Regarding the laser cutting I downloaded the file to the laser cutting machine then i cut the front page.
Then I got two bolts and two nuts and started to connect the arms to front part.

I needed to search for the ideal dimensions of the glasses so I used:
Gemini
I faced some troubles during designing the front part regarding the dimensions and Eman ( Tech. specialist ) helped me to resize the design.
Other challenge was to center the opening for the bolts in both the front part and the arms.
The dimensions of the glasses wasn't clear to me as I don't wear glasses so I had to search for the ideal length for the arms of the glasses and the width of the front part.

I have learned how to connect two parts.
This will help me alot as I will fabricate a car race track consists of many parts.
