“Life is a journey, not a destination.”
– Ralph Waldo Emerson
“Not all those who wander are lost.”
– J.R.R. Tolkien
A small girl wandering through Egypt’s cities and villages, still exploring, still unsure where she truly belongs. I’m discovering fields that feel worlds apart. But I keep trying, again and again, hoping that one day I’ll meet the version of me that finally feels like Rania :)
They say I’m studying Mechatronics Engineering. But to me, it feels more like diving into a vast ocean of engineering. Every time I swim toward the shore, I end up drifting deeper into the unknown. And maybe that’s okay. Maybe:(
Behind all the academic hassles, I write my real feelings into anonymous Medium articles. I listen to podcasts about humans and their distinctive stories. Or sometimes, I live the podcast myself, talking to strangers in Ubers from Tagamoa to Zayed, or on public transportation from Mansoura to Zagazig, then to October, about everything and nothing: a man’s long drives, his family struggles. They always say at the end, “الله يكون في عونك على السفر ده.”
As someone who spends an average of 15–40 hours per week in transportation, we need to romanticize this life and enjoy the road. Sometimes, it’s a moment of reflection; other times, it’s just a new reason to be nervous.
So if you ever want to talk about life, or randomness, or something you never thought you’d share. I’m all ears.
And finally, we’ll always keep trying to know myself, whether it’s at the end of this chapter or the entire story.
