I wanted to generate a new design thing for the glasses so i started at this process with:
First,
for search: I made a visual feeding to see different designs and to make my brainstorming process. so, i usually using Behance platform and Yandex images for this process
glass measurements
and i searched for the glasses measurements to Take it into consideration while designing my own one.
2d for the body
2d for the sides
3d for the selected idea
at the brainstorming process
first, I started with 2d shapes for the sides and the body.
then, I convert the choosing one into 3d sketch.
for the design,
i used fusion 360 for make the design.
then, RDworks and Cura for design preparation and slice.
for the machines:
laser:
El Malky ML149 CO₂ Laser Cutter for cutting, and 3mm plywood as the material—it’s sturdy, clean to cut, and perfect for detailed designs.
3d:
Creality Ender 3 Pro to print it, and PLA filament as the material.
Nuts and bolts: for joining the parts
face sketch
3d face
after sketching on the paper and defining the dimensions i started to make it on fusion:
first, I open a new file and adding a new component to start sketching.
then I started with the face, and I made it fully defined sketch after that I extruded it with 3mm distance
before the fillets
after the fillets
i added some fillets to reduce the sharp edges.
side sketch
slot sktech
3d side
slot placement at 3d
after i finished the face i started to make the sides with adding a new component and i sketched it on the back of the body, i added a placement for the nut as captive nut then i extruded it 7 mm, after the extrude i added a sketch on the front side to add a slot (m3) [ circle with 3mm diameter]
then i copy this component and edit the extrude to be -7 mm to make the other side
before the fillets
after the fillets
and the same as the face i added fillets to reduce the sharp edges
appearance
after I finished the design process, I wanted to assembly the 3 parts together and to add some appearance
dxf exporter (the final choice)
choose the 3d print option
select te sketch and edit then ok
choose the body and preview it
so, we finished the design process
we need th export the files for 3d printing and laser cutting:
for the body (2d laser cutting) :
i used the extension for export it to laser cutting i selected the sketch then choose it and edit its parameters.
for the sides (3d print):
i choose the 3d option from the (file) list
then i choose the body i wanted to print and previewed it
then save it as STL file.
choose the 3d print option
choose the body and preview it
now, we designed and exported or files, it's preparation turnnnn!
for the 2d laser cutting:
i opened the dxf file we exported at RDworks,
then, started to edit the parameters of it:
they all lines were cutting lines, so it was: 40 for speed and 45 for power
then save it as plt
preview
rotate
for the 3d printing
i opened the STL files we exported at cura to slice them,
actually i needed to rotate them on their back to reduce the time it takes from 1h to 34m for each side!
cause, at the first it was 2 times taller than the back and the two statues needed a support because of its curves.
the infill was 20%, support was touching buildplate, layer hight was 0.2 and the adhesion was on
then save it as gcode
for laser cutting:
Prepare the Material: Place the material securely into the machine.
Select the File:
Navigate to the Files section.
Choose the appropriate file name.
Set Origin and Frame: Designate the origin point and adjust the frame as needed.
Close the Machine Cover: Ensure the cover is properly secured before starting.
Begin the Process: Initiate the machine to start the operation.
it took me less than 1minute.
manufacturing
for 3d printing:
select the printer i want to print at
clean the bed
upload the file using USB
select print from usb
then choosing my file just it.
printed
"رطوبة اللوح بتحتاج نزود ال power +5 علشان يقطع كويييييس"
for captive nut or the t slot we need to add a tolerance عشان الماشينز فيها نسبة خطأأأأأ
لما تستخدم المبرد متنساش تلبس الجلافز عشان متتعورشششش
the capitive nut at the glasses side was a little bet narrow for the nut to be in it cause i did not caculate its tolerance, so i needed to use files to add some space mnually! (اكتر حاجة مملة وصعبة وبتوجع الايد في الحياة ف معلش زود رينج التوليرنس خليها عليك)
نسيت اصور وانا بشتغل بالمبرد ف معلش حلوة دي
finalllllly
واخيييييرا
