Ideation

Tell us about your assignment's idea for this week. Why do you care about this idea? What inspired you? (Please include images or links to sources of inspiration)

I am fond of small animals and cute shapes, so I chose to Fabricate a small duck in 3D, and a key chain in the shape of an alien (مارد وشوشني).

Tool Chain

Which software/machines/materials did you use in the assignment? Why?

Machines

The printer used for the 3D printing; the machine Prusa MK2 3D Printer.

The printer used for the laser cutting; I have used the Laser Cutter El Malky ML149 CO2 available in FLE.

Software

For the preparation of the 3D printing file, I used the software, Ultimaker Cura.

For the preparation of the laser cutting file; I have used RDWorks Software which is compatible with the laser cutter "El Malky ML149 CO2" in FLE.

Materials

The materials used in 3D printing are: 3D filament; I used orange PLA

The materials used in laser cutting: Plywood has been used. I used 3mm thikness.

Laser Cutter

Steps:

Open 3axis software.
Choose your design.
Download it.
Open RDWorks.
Import your design.
Assign colors for Cut, Scan and speed cut by selecting lines.
Upload to Machine

Development/Implementation Process

Explain the development/implementation process of your assignment. How did you use the machine/tool to manufacture or implement the design of your assignment?

I used Blue for scanning parts, black for cutting and red for speed cut.

In the design, I created a hole in the head so that I could use the character as a key chain.

Overcoming Challenges

What kinds of challenges or problems did you face while doing the assignment, tutorials, or exercises? How did you solve them? Did you ask for help from an instructor or peer? Please provide a link to the tutorial or article that you used to solve your problem (if any)

In laser printing, I did not encounter problems, but in In 3D printing, I faced a problem with supports. I will discuss it in detail in the section dedicated to it.

With every task we do, I enjoy learning new things.
While we were printing this little dog, I had a lot of fun using the cutting and engraving skills after knowing nothing about them.
