Week 1

First week assignment is to find 2 models to fabricate using 3D printing & Laser cutting machines ...

 While I'm searching  I found something themed interesting it's called ocarina. It's a musical instrument produces bird like sound. So, I decided to use 3D printing to fabricate it. And decided to fabricate a wooden neckless using laser cutting machine

I will use PRUSA 3D printer with PLA filament to fabricate the ocarina using Cura software 

And Laser cutting machine on a 3ml thickness plywood to fabricate the neckless using Laser work Software 

To prepare the 3D model for the bird I used UltiMaker Cura software 

For laser cutting I draw the lines using photoshop and then converted the image by convereto to .dxf file 

To use Prusa I3 first thin to do is to install the required filament into its place then choose the file from the SD card 

the machine starting to heat till reach 215 calicoes degree for the extruder and 60 degree for the bed 

while reaching the required temperature it starts to calibrate bed size and test the filament 

it starts to build the base part - the brim - and then building layers above each other till build the whole shape

To use laser cutter we start with uploading the files on the machine 

Choose the file and move the arrows to fit the laser nozzle to the required point then press origin to fix the starting point

Use frame button to observe the area will be cutted then press start then enjoy some ASMR till the the end of the prosses 

don't forget to close the laser cutter door and to turn on the hood
