Ideation

Tell us about your assignment's idea for this week. Why do you care about this idea? What inspired you? (Please include images or links to sources of inspiration)

I love space so, I decided to make astronomy inspired glases by making it in form of the rockets that goes to space

Tool Chain

Which software/machines/materials did you use in the assignment? Why?

I used laserworks software to prepare my file

the materials was : ply wood

for laser cutting

I used malky CNC laser cutter

to cut the wood to make the face of the glasses

I used fusion 360 software to prepare my design

I used Cura software to prepare my file

the materials was : PLA fillament

For 3D printing

I used prusa mk2
to make the arms of the glasses

Design/Preparation Process

Explain the design and/or preparation process of your assignment. How did you use the tool or software to design and/or prepare your assignment before fabrication/implementation?

i started by designing the face of the glasses
then i made it into 3d body
after that i stated making the rockets and it took me a while but everything went great
lastly i assembled the parts and the final pieces to start printing

i fixed a fabrication problem and you'll see it next questions

The rocket must be pointy!!

as we saw in the dictator movies the actor said that the rocket must be pointy and i wanted to keep the tradition
join the journey by browsing the gallery

using fillet tool was helpful to make a rocket that is not harmful

and i made it a brass layout which looked amazing!!

Development/Implementation Process

Explain the development/implementation process of your assignment. How did you use the machine/tool to manufacture or implement the design of your assignment?

i used 0.2 layer height 15% infill temperature 215 but we edited it on the machine to 210 degree and it had no support needed

i used power 50 and speed 30 i had it at 55 but we edited it on spot just before cutting

i started shooting but it didn't shoot so i will show you the results next

started to 3d print the rockets!

the connection between the face and the screw hole was so week and it was obvious that it will break easy

so i came up with this solution with the help of asmaa the lab specialist

Final Project

How can you use the skills and knowledge that you've acquired this week in your final project?

i was so proud making this glasses

it looked so cool and i learned alot about designing doing this project

skills like fully defining a sketch and also apllying the skills of the videos in diploma

What is the coolest thing that you've learned this week? What is something that you will never forget from this week?

that in should shoot the laser cutting process and make sure the camera is on before cutting
