The Inspiration Image
I started searching on the Internet, and was inspired by the idea of a case for pens and stationery from the existing picture, and I began to imagine the shape of a wooden case that is elegant and different in shape from the case in the picture

Components and Timeline
While sketching the components, I made a fillet for the two internal and intersecting components (Component 1 , Component 2)
And after I drew all the sketches of the different components, and make full defined for all components, I took into account the work of the T slot and the tab slot, then I made the Joints to group all the components together.
It began to focus on making a Full definition for all components of Pen & Pencil Holder ,separation between components and objects as shown in the picture, and also began to introduce aesthetic forms and develop the shape of the design so that it is suitable for practical use.

RD Works V 8 (Cam Cad software ) Parameters

I used the RD work v 8 program and imported files with a DXF extension, then I made nesting next to the point of origin in it to reduce the waste of the raw material (the wooden plank), and I made adjustments such as removing double lines for the 2 components with 7 circular holes, then I set the parameters For printing, as shown below:

then I made a download after connecting my Laptop to the laser cutting machine

I encountered the problem of not being able to save the files in DXF format, and whenever I tried to save the files, a message appeared that there were errors. I even returned the pen holder several times, and in the end I resorted to asking and advice form Instructor in the support session on Sunday, Miss Menna discovered the cause of the problem, which is that I was using an offline version and Read-only of the Fusion 360 , and after we made the online Fusion 360,then I was able to save all the files on DXF and then I was able to complete the rest of the assignment of the third week

The most important skill is that I acquired the skill of making a complete definition and a great understanding of the differences between components and bodies, and I became able to clearly imagine the different levels and different layers and make many projects

The most enjoyable thing for me is that I was able to design Pen & Pencil holder, taking into account simplicity, in addition to aesthetic form, which is one of the most important customer requirements in products.
