Ideation

Tell us about your assignment's idea for this week. Why do you care about this idea? What inspired you? (Please include images or links to sources of inspiration)

Phone holder

I searched on google and I find some designs but it like this because I love minions. I measure my mobile phone and start sketching.

Tool Chain

Which software/machines/materials did you use in the assignment? Why?

Fusion 360

Designing the holder and standing on it may take much time but when I practice more it became easier.

I use the Laser cutter because I want to do a 2D design

Explain the design and/or preparation process of your assignment. How did you use the tool or software to design and/or prepare your assignment before fabrication/implementation?

Sketching

I opened the fusion 360 to start sketching take care of the dimensions and T-slot to make sure that the holder and stand gone fit together

I watched the videos, search on google about phone holders and I love this.

I started to do my sketch and choose another plane to do the stand

I tried to do the same shape with the tools that I have after that I made an extrude for the holder and stand so that I can imagine the design before cutting it.

I measured my mobile phone and I made the holder 20 cm, 4 cm for y and x

Made from wood because it is a 2D design made on laser cutter.

Development/Implementation Process

Explain the development/implementation process of your assignment. How did you use the machine/tool to manufacture or implement the design of your assignment?

I checked the power and speed, turn on the machine and start cutting the design.

this video is repeating for the standing part because it was destroyed the first time.

All the design were cut so I checked the speed made it at 5 and the power was 95. And I started the machine.

Eng: Ahmed helped me to fix something in my design,

because I have a problem and cut the part again

In the standing part, I forget to delete the construction line and when I opened it in the Laser CAD read it as a line and cut the standing part into 2 parts.

So we open the design on another program, delete the line and cut it again.

When I was with G1 I confused because of dimensions but Ghazaly and Merit helped me to fix it and we have a different ways to do the same thing, it was a little confusing but inspiring.

At the first design I cut the eyes and the design destroyed so I make the design again but I have the same problem, so I asked my Eng: Ahmed khaled and he helped me to fix my sketch and I cut it successfully.

Overcoming Challenges

When you got stuck, what/who did you turn to? At what point did you have to pause to research or learn more before moving on? What are some mistakes, pitfalls, or challenges that others can avoid if they were doing this assignment?

When I designed it, I make all of it cut, but I should do it as engrave or fix the design, so I fixed the design and cut this part again.

And it works.

Final Project

How can you use the skills and knowledge that you've acquired this week in your final project?

When I was fabricated my design I made a search and it really helped me.

Also, the videos made me go more deep infusion and know how to fabricate the all design by myself without downloading the design from any website.
