Week # 3- Journal
Ideation
Tell us about your assignment's idea for this week. Why do you care about this idea? What inspired you? (Please include images or links to sources of inspiration)
I like that my designs take the childish spirit of shapes and models and take inspiration from nature by simply drawing along with the benefit of the design to perform the function of carrying pens. Buha is my small product, Putting it on the desk to carry pens, achieving of appearance, the fun and, usefulness of the design
Tool Chain
Which software/machines/materials did you use in the assignment? Why?
software
3d printing cam software
for cad software i used fusion 360
Ultimaker cura
its an easy cam program to use and machine which i use agree with this cam software ,with adjusting
infill,resolution,supports adhesion,slicing and saw the preview(simulation) I
can control
time and weight of martial and it can be used in make g code file which 3d printer use
.This program contains many features that help in the design and make it look great This program helps to design types of sketches (2d,2,5d,3d) and contains the feature of assembly and also we can form it any shape we want with the utmost freedom
machine which i used
FDM 3D printing (prusa i3 MK2)
its an suitable machine to use in learning and mini prototyping with one color interface
material
material which i used plA filament
A material that is available, easy to find, and the cheapest price compared to other materials
Design/Preparation Process
Explain the design and/or preparation process of your assignment. How did you use the tool or software to design and/or prepare your assignment before fabrication/implementation?
Buha with 3d printing
pen holder with fusion360 cad software, cura cam software
dimensions (50*42*60)
took (55m)
weight (20g)
the process
inspiration from pinterest for different types of pencil holder
# 2-sketching mobile holder with dimensions (100*75*100)mm
3-draw 2d sketch with fully defined dimensions in fusion360
# draw sketch of the features of buha after use construct feature
# lofting top and bottom
# shell the body (,3mm)
fillet corners
extrude the features by joins
# adding appearance to the design
render the body
# save the file as ( stl)
open the file in cura to adjust the features of body
layer height ,4mm
infill 20
without adhesion
without support
save body as g code file (buha_PLA_black_,4mm_21g_57m)
Development/Implementation Process
Explain the development/implementation process of your assignment. How did you use the machine/tool to manufacture or implement the design of your assignment?
buha with 3dprinter 3d design
put the gcode file in card
put the card in 3d printer
click enter to adjusting it parameters
click enter to run
Overcoming Challenges
What kinds of challenges or problems did you face while doing the assignment, tutorials, or exercises? How did you solve them? Did you ask for help from an instructor or peer? Please provide a link to the tutorial or article that you used to solve your problem (if any)
1- when i want to fillet my body after shell it, fusion get error so the solution is shell after fillet not before
2- when i dropped the design in cura to adjust the feature even i get the scale smaller time break my limits so i get layer height ,4mm to solve this problem and save time
Final Project buha
How can you use the skills and knowledge that you've acquired this week in your final project?
I have learned how to create a 3D design using features in Fusion, for example (loft, extrude cut, fillet and shell).
I also learned how to show the design in a good shape and distinctive colors by appearance and render.
And learn how to adjust the settings of Cura to suit the printing of the design by maintaining the exact time and quantity and at the same time showing the design details well.
And also to confirm the use of the machine
WOW!
What is the coolest thing that you've learned this week? What is something that you will never forget from this week?
I learned how to design a three-dimensional pen holder with its true dimensions in thirty minutes and add features and appearance to it as well.
say hi to flafelo
I learned how to 3D design using the different properties of Fusion (revolve,extrude....)
how to animate related parts by animated assemble ,
how to add appearance to the design, and how to make a render.
Weekly Digest [OPTIONAL]
Tell us about any other cool things that you've made this week: in the Hands-on activity, tutorial examples, exercises, or any other cool mini-project that you tried out aside from the assignment.
i design a cool lego
