I designed a model of a simple mobile phone holder that rests on a flat surface Table. I designed the parts using Fusion 360 and fabricated them using Laser Cutting.

I Sketched my phone holder model in Fusion 360, consisting of more than 2 parts, and all sketches are fully defined.
The parts of my model are assembled together using screws and nuts ( T-slot and Tabs ).
I Extruded all sketches into 2.5D parts and assemble all the parts in Fusion 360
I Exported all parts in *.DXF format
Finally, I prepared my *.DXF files in LaserWork and fabricated them using Laser Cutting.

Inspiration
I would use it as an adjustable mobile holder so that I can control the angle of the display. I analyzed the weak points in the design and used a customized fixation technique (Joints) to be more durable and rigid. the parts of the model are assembled together using T slots and tabs. I used fusion 36o to design the parts and exported the .dxf file to laserworks to get the .rld file which will be cut using the laser machine.

The final fabricated in digiatl design phase
The model i made was with adjusted dimensions and joints to fit Iphone pro Max13 and the joints were screw and tabs with manual sharp piece and rotating dynamic joints to adjust the angle of the holder.

First : Fusion 36O Personal Use
I used Fusion 360 to draw the parts and sketched dimensions to be exact and real dimensions in mm. then I drew the joints (tabs and screws). All the parts were extruded and formed components then it was ready for assembly to check the joints. I exported Dxf. files to laser works.

Second : laserwork v6
I used LaserWorks v6 to change the settings of the speed and power of scanning or cutting layers. I used a laser cutting machine (MORN MT3050D) to cut 3mm plywood because it is an abundant local product and easy to cut using the laser cutting machine. Also, it is cheap and delivers a high-quality end products.

Design Process using Fusion 360
1) I used fusion 360 to draw the parts of the models with real and exact dimensions.
2) I have drawn the tabs to be 3.2mm (thickness of the wooden material).
3) I draw the T slots with exact dimensions for nail M3 and screw
4) In the part of the dynamic angle rotation I did press fit for only the rotating part to act as a wheel.

Fusion 360 : Screenshot of the fully defined parts in terms to a well defined dimensions which are directly connected to origin
Fully Defined
I made two lines perpendicular starting from the origin and made all the sketches start and defined from both lines to be fully designed it turned black after selection.

Design Process using Fusion 360
1) the final sketches were extruded to 3mm which is the thickness of the plywood material used for laser cutting.
2) Each part were set to a different components ready for assembly

Final Assembly
1) I rotated each component in its exact orientation for assembly
2) I selected the midpoint of lines/ center of faces and formed joints.
2) the model is ready for assembly as shown in the figure
3) right click on sketches> save as dxf
LaserWorks Screenshot of progressed file
Second : laserwork V6
2) I imported the DXF File and moved it to the origin.
4) I have set the cut and scan layers by selecting colors and adjusted powers and speed of each layer.
Black : Cut : Speed 30 :Power 65
Red : Scan : Speed 200: power 40
5) file > save as > RLD
Implementation
1) I transferred my RLD file to the laser cutting maching computer and rechecked the power and speed with lab technician and click download to transfer it to the machine.
2) prepared the plywood sheet 3mm.
3) Choose the file and set the origin of the nosel.
4) close the machine for safety.
it took 6 m 4 secs.
The process of laser cutting the Mobile Holder
How it is folded and inserted in pocket
1) I have asked Amany and rechecked the data inputs before transferring the files to the machines.
2) The timeline was hidden so I fixed it through
3) I have learned how to remove the joints from the timeline and edit the sketch if I want to remodel it or adjust parts https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-delete-a-joint-in-Fusion-360.html
Details of the dynamic connections
1) I have learnt how to design parts of the final project and its joints (screws and tabs) which are more durable and flexible to edit.
2) I learnt how to extrude the objects and make components which are able to form joints and test the joints before fabrication.
3) I learnt how to make the .dxf files and import them into laserwork to adjust the power and speed needed for cut and scan (rld).
The assembly of the 360 fusion is real animation of how parts will be gathered together and the coolest thing that you can check whether the joints will work on real or it is not functional and you can re-adjust the sketches with less waste of time, money, and resources in trials of the pre-fabrication stage.
the timeline which is facilitating the steps of the design where you can edit each step. This feature is not available in other software where I can edit any step and it automatically keeps its effects on the rest of the steps.
