-I wanted to make a multiple-use mobile holder for office use.
-I got inspiration from conducting a Google search using the keywords: wooden phone holder.
We'll be using Fusion 360. in working this week, we'll be focusing on designing and creating the phone holder's parts on Fusion 360.
first we'll create a 2D sketch of each part of the phone holder then we'll extrude these sketches into 2.5D parts so we can assemble them to form the final product.
For the laser cutting task, we used "RdWork" software to prepare the .dxf file according to the required dimensions and position on the cutting area and to convert the file to the required format for the laser cutting machine.
Malky ML1930a laser cutting
In the beginning, I measured the dimensions of the phone I used in the project and built the dimensions of all the parts I will design later.
Extruded every side by a distance of 3.0 mm.
- Collect every side in one project
- Joint the 9 parts together.
- Saved the files as.DXF.
- Imported the files in Laser works.
- Saved the files as .rd.
I draw all parts by using simple tools like Rectangles, lines, circles,3-point arcs, and mirror.
I used constraints like coincident, colinear, and fix/unfix.
All tools and constraints I used are very simple.

I did extrude to all parts of the design and assembled all by joint to make a 2.5D sketch and verify that all parts were joined well.

*the cutting process/
1- I prepared the file in .rdl format before going to the lab and saved it to a portable disk.
2- we put the sheet of wood on the laser cutting machine.
3-Before going to run the file I made a trace to the file to ensure everything was okay.
4-Finally, I ordered the machine to cut the file.
1-The diameter of circles for placing pens was supposed to be less.
I have gained some knowledge that will help me in designing the parts I will need in my final project and Getting familiar with the machines to use in to implementation.
The activity was so cool it learn you how to think with your team besides it was so funny.
