The assignment for this week is to Design a model of a simple mobile phone holder that may rest on a flat surface (Table Top). Design the parts using Fusion 360 and fabricate it using Laser Cutting.
Inspiration
Inspiration from here where after a long search, I chose the structure to be like the picture here.
Then some frills and touches were added to be nicer Although they may be harmful to some people.

Malky ML64 CO2 for laser cutting using plywood.

calculate the dimensions of mobile and entrance slots.
Sketch the design after selecting the best angle of slope.
3. Sketch The design which consists of 2 parts (Front , Back) using Fusion 360 program.

4. Increase the thickness of the parts to be 3mm as ply wood thickness by Using extrude tool.
5. Make the full design using joint tool and save files as DXF files.
6. Import files in laser cad then delete any useless lines to be ready for cutting.
7. Finally set lines to be cut, lines to be engraved and lines to be speed cut, then modify the parameters as shown.
Steps to cut the model :
Connect the laser cutter with the laptop using the cable.
Download the file from laser cad software.
Name the file then push the start button.
wait for the machine until finished.
open the machine and that's it.
Here I could not exactly determine what is the best way for the image to appear nice, so I asked the instructor and he helped me to determine the lines that need completely cut, the lines that need speed cut and the lines that need engraving.
Here the final result after the instructor's help.
Now I have the ability to design and sketch using fusion 360 which will help me to implement my required designs for the final project.
I have the ability to Use the laser cutting machine to fabricate 2.5D parts that can be assembled to build a 3D object.
The coolest thing here that I designed the holder in a way that makes it suitable for my mobile, as it enables me to insert my hand free and the charger, and there is also an audio output.
