assignment
This week's assignment is to design, simulate, and build a simple electronic device that performs two actions and is Integrated within an enclosure.
inspiration
I chose to design an electric sharpener because most children from 4 to 5 years old cannot sharpen the pencil themselves.
Software
I use tinkercad to simulate the circuit before actually designing it.
Materials
Cardboard
Bottle cap
Sharpener
Component List
Name
DC Motor
Lamp
Pushbutton
Adaptor 9 V
Wires
Breadboard
DC Motor
pushbutton
breadboard
Jumper Wires
Wires
Lamp
I used TINKERCAD to simulate the circuit before I started to Build your circuit on a breadboard and test it.
First: I used ( Lamp, DC Motor, Pushbutton, and 9v power supply)
Then: I started wiring them:
The Lamp's Cathode side is connected to the Breadboard, and the Anode side is connected to one side of the pushbutton.
The DC Motor's positive side is connected to the same side of the Breadboard to the Lamp is connected, and the negative side is connected to the same side of the pushbutton to the LED is connected.
One side of the pushbutton is connected to the Lamp and the DC Motor, and the other side is connected to the power supply's positive side.
Finally: I connected them all to the 9v power supply.
Note: All components are delivered in parallel.
Simulation
I wired The circuit the same way as tinkercad.
Finally: I connected them all to the 9v Adaptor.
Note: All components are delivered in parallel.
Simulation
First: I cut the cardboard to build the outer cube shape
I made 4 holes
Slot for the pushbutton
Lamp slot
Adapter slot
Pencil hole
Second, I put each ingredient in its place and then I stuck the pieces of cardboard to build the hologram.
Final Modal
I faced a problem when connecting wires to run the motor in opposite directions. After connecting all wires in an H- bridge way, and then when connecting them to electricity, the motor was not working.
solutions:
I discovered that the breadboard was divided in half so I connected a wire between them.
The skills I gained this week are knowledge of electrical tools, how to build an electrical circuit using a motor, fan and bulbs, how to connect respectively and parallel, and how to reduce voltage to run a component at a voltage lower than the available electrical source.
In the EOWeek Session, we divided groups Our team consisted of me and Mina. to Build a simple Sumo RC Car by designing, fabricating, wiring, and integrating all the components together.
Tools & Materials
Electronics
2 Yellow DC Motors
8 Push Buttons
Jumper Wires
2 Adapters (9 V)
2 Large-sized Breadboard
2 Rounded Wheels
1 Caster Wheels
2 Zip Ties
Yellow Tape
Design & Fabrication
Autodesk Fusion 360
Laser Cutter
Driller
Caliper
We designed the structure on Fusion and cut it with a laser cutting machine
Then we designed the electrical circuit.
I designed a circle to get numbers 1 to 9 by on / off switch
