Inspiration
The idea for this week is a Pen Holder, Designed using Fusion 360 and Fabricated using 3D Printer.
By looking for a good inspiration, I found this polygon shape is a may be a good fit for this assignment.
Design Software: Fusion 360.
Slicing Software: Ultimaker Cura.
Machine: Prusa i3 MK2.
Material: PLA.
Design Process
Look for Inspiration.
Imagine Design Steps.
Look for Design Method.
Imagine Dimensions and Scale.
Start Design as Shown in Attached Photos.
Starting with the Base Sketch of a Hexagon.
Then with Surface Modeling to sketch my polygon pattern.
Circular Pattern the first Sketch.
Close the Surface to get a solid model.
Shell the model to create the opening for pens.
Extrude cut the offset diamond shape the lower the model weight.
Circular pattern the cut.
Preparation Process
Export STL file from Fusion 360.
Import STL file into Cura.
Apply printing parameters
Scale: 47.5.
Layer Height: 0.2 mm
Infill: 17%
Implementation Process
Upload gcode into SD Card
Insert SD Card into the Machine and Select the Desired File.
Start Printing.
The Challenge of Time Limit of 90 min, so I had to Scale Down my Pen Holder to a Scale of 47.5%
