The assignment of this week is designing a mobile holder from plywood by using the laser cutting machine.
My ideas of this mobile holder was limited, so I googled it and found a lot of different shapes, but I liked this shape and inspired me to put my pens and the same time the main purpose as a mobile holder.

I used Photoshop for creating my text on the wood. Then, I used fusion 360 to design the mobile holder then used the laser cad software to export file.dxf to import it into the machine of the laser cutting to get the end result.

Firstly, I draw the design on a paper to define the best shape and know the dimensions.
Then, I used the cardboard to make this shape to know if this will be suitable or no before applying the shape using the wood.
finally, I started the design in fusion 360 step by step. I designed the front side and copied the back side from it, then the right and left side with the same way, and finally the base. all sides with equal specific dimensions.

And finally I am familiar with the processes of cutting. so, I did those steps:
1- Importing the file with .pwj extension to laser cad software.
2- Then, I downloaded it to the laser cutter machine using cable.
3- After that, I checked the focus to define the origin point.
4- And finally started the cutting from start button in the machine.
The result was very good as my expectations ^_^

I wanted to insert an image into Fusion 360, the image extension was .png so I asked my colleague (Ibrahim) but he told me the image should be with specific extension .dxf and sent me website that is called convertio that convert .png to .dxf, but I found another one is faster than it that is called anyconv, if you have the same problem, remember to use it.
After that I inserted the image with extension .dxf but the fusion has stopped because of inserting the image, so I asked instructor (Menna) and she advised me to import the image in the laser cad after importing the other parts, and it was successful idea.

Now, I am ready to design the body of the final project by using Fusion 360 and cut the design using the laser cutter.

We designed this chair in the fusion then used the laser cutting for cutting the parts to make this beauty chair. It was really good experience to work as a team.

I designed a spinner with my colleague Ahmed Shehta.
I designed this arabesque shape in fusion 360 to learn how to use it.
