at first when I searched for pen holder I noticed that all the result include cup shapes , will the on my desk it was an old cup too 😅
but I still want more than that cup
So i decided to make my own design at last.
yes yes it's a cup in the end, but there is some more features 🤫🤫
with four slots to put your most used pens to easy access them, not just that but also there is a Bearing to make it spin around (like there is not enough spinners objects in the diploma 😅😂)
WATCH THIS , THISSS 😮😮
First, I used Fusion 360 to make the 3d design
then, the mity slicer of all time CURA to slice and export .gcode file 💪
Old bearing from the down garage (my bedroom)
PLA filament
For the printing I will use Prusa i3 mk2
First I make 3 sketches in 3 plans connect points from the top sketch to the down one to prepare it to loft
then loft the shape up , loft the interior and cut them from the solid shape , and extrude and cut the circle down so it fit the bearing
Time to make the base that hold the bearing , not that much it's easy sketch and extrude and join to make the body
at last joined them together and make the motion like the video up there, did you watched it , DID U WATCHED ITTT 🙄😳
But then i had a vary difficult problem see it at overcoming challenges down there to know what changes happened 🫣
Finally I added some color from appearance so I could imagine it before printing it 🤩
"Final Design"
ya it was awesome design, but you think it's easy as that ??!
It was not to much time only 10 hours easy peasy 🥲
so to the plan B
TO B CONTINUED ✌️
So i tried to cut it from the top again and again to minimize the printing time but also it's a failure solution and didn't met the 90m rule
Down to plan C , D , F ....
all these attempt fail
So let's scape all way down to plane Z
Let think of the fundamental of this design , a bottom and holes to hold the pen and a base to hold the bearing to make it spin , so let sketch it again to the minimum design
then let's loft again the sketches , make a circle pattern to the holder
then the base for the bearing
last let's join all the parts together and all done
Sometimes the problem isn't solvable , so make sure you have a plan B, C tell Z to solve it 💪
yes it's me again
watch this final version now
WATCH IIIT 😳😳
Take the design to cura to slice it
with 15 g and 1h & 27m that's acceptable ❤️
used 0.2 draft thickness, 10% infill, with no supports or adhesion
all parts are touching the bid and all good to print
So first I went to the lap to fabricate the model, choose the filament color (purple) , unload the old filament and load the new one, preheat it and clean the nozzle and start printing
all start good
put the bearing it fits will and all done ✌️😎
I found red filament like the appearance in the lap, put choose the purple one, it's unique and more user friendly😅🫣
ONE
TWO
THREE
It's will spin back to Me ✌️✌️
