Hello everyone .it's a pleasure to talk about what had done in this sprint. i intend to follow the stages of design thinking (empathize, define, ideate, prototyping, test) to build my prototype after making 5 interviews with the expected users of my smart wall clock. i see the problem that faces them in the conventional clock and tries to solve it than adding some feature which will help in the daily days of every user.
I make virtual prototyping using SolidWorks to design a frame for my smart wall clock which will help the user expecting what it will look like after fabrication. I make the frame very simple, compatible and small with a good look. this designed can be fabricated in a laser cutting machine .it will make of wood and white acrylic to give it a good look for lightning
1.circle of 40 cm diameter for the frame
2.drawing the numbers of hours in the around a circle then extrude cut the numbers
4.draw the tree shape then make a circular pattern then extrude cut
5.inside the tree shape drawing the numbers which indicate the minutes ten make extrude cut for the numbers
6.select the over material around then cut it
7.make the final shape pattern around the frame then make extrude boss
8-increase the material in the top and down of the clock frame
9-extrude cut the position of the digital screen in the bottom of the frame
10-make a circular ring which i will use it to be a layers to make the enclosure of the PCP
11-extrude the cover of the enclosure and cut the position of the mechanical clock box
MINUMUM FEATURE
making a decoration giant clock using addressable led to display real-time with RTC module
COMPLETE FEATURE
controlling the clock to make it on or of when someone is in the room and when no one move the clock will turn off
NICE TO HAVE FEATURE
Embedding a vision camera to detect the mode of the people in the room to display colour and pattern of light that suits this mood
12.make an assembly of parts as shown in the back view of the clock
Prototyping is the process of creating a sample product to be tested in a “real world” environment. This sample product, also known as a prototype, is “an original model, form or an instance that serves as a basis for other processes,” and is used to improve design iterations before the product reaches its final stage.
Rapid prototyping is an accelerated version of prototyping that uses 3D CAD software and 3D printing technology. It has been adopted by a variety of industries to test the appearance and functionality of physical parts.
