Q: Where do I go to enroll my student?
A: Online in ParentVue. If you do not have access to a computer or a place with computer access, you may use a computer in our offices.
Q: What are the hours?
A: Our office hours are 7:30am-4pm, but registrations are to be completed online using PARENTVUE.
Q: What if I have additional questions about enrollment not listed here, who do I contact?

Q: What do I need to bring with me to enroll my student?
A: Please refer to ParentVue instructions.
Q: What is a proof of address?
A: Current utility bill (PGE, water bill, gas bill) in parent/guardian's name showing the physical address. You will need to upload your documents to ParentVue, or mark the option to bring the forms to our office.
Q: Are there any other forms of proof of address accepted or is a utility bill the only form?
A: SSHS accepts a current lease agreement, bill of sale, and/or a current driver's license.
Q: Does SSHS do enrollments over the phone?
A: No, we have to have parent/guardian to enroll all students, even if student is 18.
Q: How do I know if we live in SSHS area?
A: You can contact SSHS (503-399-2644) or Salem Keizer Boundaries Office (503-399-3246) to check the address, or click here.
Q: Once I complete paperwork what happens next?
A: Student and parent meet with a counselor to pick classes and start school.
Q: How long will the meeting with the counselor take?
A: Plan for a 45 minute appointment.
Q: Does the parent/guardian need to come to appointment with the counselor?
A: You will be notified whether or not you will need to be present with your student, after we've accepted the online registration. It is a case-by-case basis.
Q: When can my student start school?
A: As soon as they meet with their counselor to choose classes.
Q: Where can I find information about classes offered at SSHS?

Q: What if my student hasn't withdrawn from their previous school?
A: Students must be withdrawn from their previous school before enrolling at a new school, especially if the student is transferring from another Salem-Keizer School.
Q: My student is enrolling from out of state; is there anything additional that I need to bring?
A: Yes, when possible please bring in the previous school's contact information, as we will need to send a records request to them. It is also helpful if to bring in a unofficial transcript, immunization records, copies of Special-Ed records (current IEP, eligibility and psych report), court documents if applicable, and a copy of the student's birth certificate, if you have it.
Q: If I want an IDT (In-District Transfer) what do I do?
A: Request an IDT from your resident school (example: if you live in SSHS area but want to go to Sprague you need to start the request at Sprague).
Q: How long does an IDT take to process?
A: About 10 working days. Notification comes by mail.
Q: If I want to request an Intra-District transfer what do I do? (a transfer from another school district to Salem Keizer Public Schools)
A: Begin the request at your resident district level office (example: if you live in Cascade District, but want to come to SSHS you need to go to Cascade's District Level office and start the request with them).
Q: How long does an Intra-District transfer take to process?
A: About 3 weeks. Notification comes by mail.
Q: What do I do while I'm waiting for the IDT or Intra-District transfer, process to go through?
A: Student's must enroll at resident school until approved.
