Welcome to South! South Salem High School is the first high school in the State of Oregon recognized by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) as a Recognized ASCA Model Program and home to 2 Oregon School Counselor of the Year Finalists and the 2021 Oregon School Counselor of the Year.

Mission | The South Salem High School Counseling Department’s mission is to support students’ academic, career and social/emotional development, preparing them to lead productive fulfilling lives and become responsible, compassionate humans. Utilizing data and an equity lens, we strive to provide excellent customer service, deliver targeted interventions promoting holistic wellness and safety, and remove barriers so all of our students experience success. We partner with school and community stakeholders to continually improve and create long-term impacts in our Saxon community while fostering kindness, connection and hope.
The counseling center is here to serve you and your student. Your student is assigned a counselor by their last name. Our office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm. Counselors can be reached by email or by calling 503-399-2644 to schedule an appointment.
