How to Get a Great letter of Recommendation
North Salem High School Personal Data/Request for Recommendation Letters - Students when requesting recommendation letters, you should come prepared. Please create a document with the information on this form to give to your teacher/coach/staff member to allow them to write a great recommendation letter for you. Make sure you give those you are asking to write letters plenty of time (2-3 weeks) to complete the recommendation letters. It's important that you also ask the individual to provide you with a signed letter on official letterhead if possible.

If you want to practice, compete and receive an athletics scholarship during your first year at a Division 1 or 2 school, the NCAA Eligibility Center must certify you as eligible.

Username & Password Log - You may think you will be able to remember all your Usernames and Passwords, but it is simply not possible. By the end of your senior year you typically will have between 20 - 30 different username and passwords you will be managing. Save yourself the trouble and use this log to write them down when at the moment you create them. OR find another online App or source to manage your passwords.
Activities, Community/Volunteer Service Log - Print this Activities chart (or create a similar chart using a Google Sheet/Excel Document) to keep track of the community service, activities, and employment you have participated in during high school. This will be important when creating an ACTIVITIES RESUME for college and scholarship applications.

Log of Scholarships you have Received/Earned - It's very important to note pertinent information about scholarships you receive, contact information, etc. to make sure that you have a way to connect/contact them if the check doesn't arrive to your college in the fall. In addition, you should always send thank you notes to the scholarship committees, thanking them for your award!

Chemeketa Community College Admissions Application
Chemeketa Foundation Scholarships - Application is available online beginning February 1st and ending March 31st to apply for scholarships.
Chemeketa Scholars Program - 2 years tuition at Chemeketa Community College for students who apply, have a 3.5+ GPA. Application is open from typically the first week in March. Applications must be dropped off IN PERSON to the Admissions Office.
Chemeketa TRIO Program - An educational opportunity for low-income, first generation, and disabled students. The goal of TRiO is to assist students to overcome financial, class, social and cultural barriers to higher education. Once in college, TRiO assists them so that they can earn a college degree. Chemeketa CAMP Program - The College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) is a federally funded program that supports students from migrant and seasonal farm worker backgrounds during their first year in college. The program provides supplemental financial assistance and support services, with the goal of preparing them to continue their education and obtain a degree.
