Mrs. McNally moved to the Lehigh Valley to raise her family after living in San Diego, California. She received a Masters Degree in TESOL at DeSales University and has been teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) at Salisbury High School since 2005. This year Kathleen is also enjoying some ESL classes at Western Salisbury Elementary School!

Hi! I am an ESL teacher at Salisbury High School and have been fortunate to teach our international students for over a decade! I love teaching English Learners (ELs) because they share their unique cultures, customs, stories, and languages. Over the years, my students have come from all over the globe- Russia, Slovakia, Iran, Bosnia, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Germany, China, Mexico, Vietnam, El Salvador, Turkey, Syria, Nicaragua, Colombia, Honduras, Peru, Africa, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and the Philippines. This diverse group of students makes an interesting classroom!
For my education, I graduated from Millersville University with a B.S. in Education and DeSales University with a M.ED. in TESOL. After college I was off to live in San Diego, California! San Diego has beautiful beaches, palm trees, Mediterranean climate, parks, and the San Diego Zoo. When I wasn't visiting Sea World or walking in Balboa Park, I was teaching at ELS Language Centers as a Senior Instructor. My students were mostly from Italy, France, Korea, or Argentina. They really loved the World Cup Soccer Games!
After seventeen years of living in southern California, my family moved home to Bethlehem. Here I have taught as an adjunct faculty member at Lehigh University and Northampton Community College in their ESL Departments.
In STSD, ESL students have so much energy and enthusiasm about learning English in our high school. They really enjoy working together in our ESL room as a combined international culture! I often wonder how my ESL high school graduates are doing... These graduates have gone off to some great colleges- Moravian, LCCC, Philadelphia Community College, NCC, and Penn State.
