About Me

My name is Heather Cumello.  I am a Reading Specialist here at Salisbury Elementary School.  This is my sixth year teaching in the Salisbury Township School District.  I graduated from William Allen High School in Allentown, Pennsylvania in 1995. I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education in 2000, and my Masters in Education with Reading Specialist Certificate from East Stroudsburg University in 2008.

My teaching experience includes first grade, second grade, Title-I reading support in grades 1-5 and an Elementary Instructional Coach in the Allentown School District from 2002-2017.  I am continuing to further my education through online courses and workshops through the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit.

In my free time, I like to spend time with my family and friends.  I have 2 children ages 11 and 16 who keep me busy by running to dance events, music lessons, karate and flag football.  My daughter, Lydia is in 10th grade and my son, Landon is in 5th grade.

I sharpen the saw by taking family walks around the neighborhood or riding our bikes to the local park. I serve on the First Impressions team at our local church.   I also love to read!  My favorite genre is Realistic Fiction.  My favorite children's book is Something From Nothing by Phoebe Gilman.
