Available certifications through the Fire & EMS Program:
FEMA ICS 100 (Introduction to the Incident Command System)
FEMA ICS-200 (Basic Incident Command System)
Basic Life Support (CPR, AED and First Aid)
NWCG S-190 (Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior)
OSHA 10 (Safety and Health For General Industry)
An industry certification is a credential recognized by business and industry at the local, state or national level.
It could be an assessment, an examination or a license that is administered and recognized by an industry third-party or governing board.
Industry certificates measure competency in an occupation, and they validate the knowledge base and skills that show mastery in a particular industry.
Teachers and Advisory Committees can determine which certifications to provide for students.
2. You can participate in Work Based Learning opportunities!
Activities that occur at a workplace, providing structured learning experiences for students or other learners through exposure to a range of occupations and career options, and classroom or community activities that incorporate employers as speakers, advisors, instructors or career mentors. WBL allows students or other learners to build a bridge from adolescent roles in the classroom to adult roles in professional settings.
Students or other learners learn by observing and/or actually doing real work. Learning in the workplace or from industry professionals supports academic learning and promotes the development of broad transferable skills.

4. Courses are A-G Approved & are Dual Enrolled with the local community college!
A-G courses are a series of high school classes that students are required to successfully complete for eligible admission to the California State University and University of California systems. The A-G / College Entrance Requirements. The A-G / College Entrance Requirements are a sequence of high school courses that students must complete (with a grade of C or better) to be minimally eligible for admission to the University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU).
Dual enrollment, or concurrent enrollment as it is also known, is the practice of allowing a student to be enrolled in two academic institutions at once. Usually, this involves a high school and a college. The credits apply both to high school diploma requirements and college graduation requisites.
