Hello and Welcome
Mrs. Bower and Mrs. Failano would like to welcome you to the CNA Program page. As the theme "Adapting and Innovating Together" suggests, this year has been many things but predictable is not one of them. In spite of this CNA students have stayed flexible, patient, focused, and successful.
The CNA Program uses a work-based learning (WBL) framework to prepare graduates for entry-level careers in healthcare. A key feature of WBL is learning in the actual work setting. In the case of CNA students that means long-term care (LTC) settings caring for actual residents. When the COVID shelter-in-place order went into effect CNA students were no longer able to go to LTC facilities.
In order to complete the required hands-on clinical hours class was moved on campus to the CTE skills lab. Improvements and innovations help create and maintain a high level of realism. Don't take our word for it, see for yourself by taking a "tour" of the lab.
These short videos highlight the resources available in the CTE skills lab.
