Mrs. Marquardt

I am very blessed to be a teacher and thank God for the opportunity to touch young lives. I am a graduate from Concordia University, Irvine and have had the chance to teach at various grade levels over the years.

My first teaching experience was teaching 6th – 8th grades at Granada Middle School in Whittier. Then I had the opportunity to teach Science and Physical Education as well as coach Volleyball at Lutheran High (Orange) for 2 years.

I took a few years off from teaching to work at home. The Lord blessed me with two wonderful children, Jessica and Joshua. When I returned back to the classroom I taught 3rd grade at Mt. Calvary Lutheran School in Diamond Bar.

Then the Lord led me to teach 6th grade at Salem. This is my 20th year teaching 6th grade now and I love it!

So as you can see I have taught in quite a few different grades and I must admit that teaching 6th grade has offered me the most surprises and there is never a dull day with a 6th grader!

I received my Masters degree in Education at Concordia University.

My husband Paul and I celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary this past summer and we are grateful for the Lord’s continued blessings upon our family. My daughter, Jessica Parks, (husband Matthew) had their first child, Paisley, and we are so excited to be grandparents!!!

My son, Joshua graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree from UCSB and is working for Newracom Semiconductors.

My favorite bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”

The Lord has led me to many different places at different times in my life and He has always blessed me along the way…even when it seemed very difficult.

Always trust in the Lord!
