Students, parents, guardians, teachers, and community members are encouraged to reach out to us at any time if students or families are in need of referrals for food, clothing, shelter, and/or mental health counseling services.
You may call for an appointment or email us to refer anyone in need.
Counselors DO NOT maintain 24-hour access to e-mail accounts. In the event of a counseling emergency, call the Crisis Center at 330-424-2267 or the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800- 273-TALK or Text "4hope" to 741741 or call the Salem Police Department.
You may also call 211 for non-emergency access to services and/ or see the Helpful Links to social service agencies and supports
Services offered on site at Salem Sr/Jr HS include Food- free breakfast and lunch to all students, grades K-12
Clothing- The HERO club manages our "Quaker Closet" we have clothes, shoes, hygiene items, and school supplies available to those in need. We also always accept donations of "student-appropriate" clothing and other items if you are willing/able to help keep the closet stocked!
Social Emotional Support- We have partnered with Psycare and have a full-time case manager located within our Salem HS/Jr High School Counseling Office. Parent consent is required for us to refer your student. Please reach out to us if you are interested.
Physical Health/ Social Emotional Supports-We have a Quick Med Clinic on site in addition to our School Nurse.
