Meet Mrs. McIntosh
Hello! I'm Mrs. Mary McIntosh, and I have the privilege of serving as the Choir Director at Salado High School.
Music has shaped my life for as long as I can remember, and it's an honor to help students discover their own voices through choir.
I earned my Bachelor of Music degree from Angelo State University under Erin Alisanski, and Syracuse University and Eastmen School fo Music graduate, and have enjoyed teaching in both public and private schools throughout my career. Along the way I've worked with beginning singers, advanced ensembles, church choirs, and community choirs.
Even though I love trophies and excellent ratings, it isn't my greatest joy βit's watching students discover confidence, friendship, leadership, and a place where they truly belong. It's celebrating THEM for their progress.
I believe every student has something valuable to contribute, and I can't wait to see what we'll accomplish together.
Great choirs don't happen by accident.
They are built one rehearsal, one relationship, and one student at a time.
At Salado Choir, we strive to create an environment where students are challenged to pursue excellence while knowing they are valued simply for being part of our choir family.
We believe music education should develop not only outstanding musicians but also compassionate leaders, courageous learners, and people of integrity.
Every rehearsal is an opportunity to grow.
Every performance is an opportunity to serve.
Every student is an important part of our story.
To inspire excellence through music while building confident musicians, compassionate leaders, and a choir family where every student is known, challenged, and valued.
To create a choir program recognized for musical excellence, authentic community, servant leadership, and a culture where students discover confidence, belonging, and a lifelong love of music.
We honor ourselves, one another, our audience, and the music we perform.
Respect creates an environment where everyone can learn and thrive.
Great music requires vulnerability.
We trust one another to work hard, encourage each other, and pursue our best every day.
Growth happens outside our comfort zone.
Whether singing a solo, learning a difficult piece, or trying something new, we celebrate the courage to take healthy risks.
This is more than a slogan.
It's the heartbeat of our choir.
Every student brings unique gifts, experiences, and perspectives.
Every singer contributes to the sound of the ensemble.
Every person deserves to be seen, heard, and valued.
Because every voice truly matters.
Salado Choir continues a tradition of musical excellence while looking toward an exciting future.
Each school year adds another chapter to our story through performances, competitions, leadership opportunities, friendships, and unforgettable memories.
As our program grows, so does our commitment to serving our school and community through music.
The best chapters are still ahead.
Curious? See how our choir program has built years of success.
